A passionate and talented young woman, Neha Karamchandani has grown to be an accomplished dance choreographer. Inspired by her Indian roots and her entrepreneurial drive, Neha founded a dance company in 2010 called Dance Expression – a platform for teaching dance styles including Bollywood, Bharatnatyam and Hip Hop to aspiring dancers.
She began her training in Toronto with Sagaya Rani James of Trinity Dance Academy where she learned Bharatnatyam. She later moved to India to train in classical and contemporary jazz and western forms of dance with the world-renowned Shiamak Davar Institute of Performing Arts.
Through her dance career Neha has participated in a variety of stage shows, music videos and competitions around the world earning her accolades and awards for her work. Most recently, she and her team performed with Bollywood singer, Nikhita Gandhi at Bollywood Monster Mashup. Neha and her team were invited by the Mayor of Markham to perform for Markham’s 225th anniversary. She has trained her students to perform in and around the GTA and other parts of the world including England, India and United States.
Apart from dance, Neha has a master’s degree in Journalism from Ryerson University and a B.A. in Criminology from York University. Currently, she works as an Account Manager for a US-based company and dedicates her time to inspiring and motivating young women to be themselves. She loves to write, participate in community events and advocates for mental health.
Neha participated in the Miss World Canada 2013 beauty pageant and was a host on the Bollywood radio show – CMR 101.3 HD3 for three years. She volunteers for Girl Guides of Canada, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, Lions Club International and Sathya Sai Organization. Neha actively believes, it’s about “Beauty with a Purpose” – being beautiful inside and out.
